Caveats:
We hope to open this session to all geography teachers but this is dependent on TPN funding to cover costs. If TPN funding is not available, the event will be charged to non-members at €30 and free to members of the AGTI. If in doubt, register anyway and we will inform you closer to the date.
The event is intended in the first instance for teachers whose Cluster Day is not until the new year. However, you can attend regardless. Even better, come as a department.
If numbers get too big, we’ll make sure to at least include all schools registered.
The Session
It is intended that each geography department would plan its own Units of Work collaboratively.
In the session, you will build from the ground up a set of Units of Work. You will be working in groups so that the programme runs efficiently and you leave with a whole set of units which you can take back to school and from which you can begin teaching in September.
Along the way, you will (re)discover research-backed prinicples of good teaching and learning.
This session is a non-book session. Please *do not* bring a textbook with you. Bring only a copy of the geography specification and your phone (for taking copies of work).
A light lunch is provided.
